Got a Sony Cybershot W220 camera and wife loved it. Also got extended warranty from Vann's SquareDeal. After reading manual I had to have the deluxe Cybershot so I bought the W290 for me with more advanced features and easier to use menu plus better zoom than W220. I liked the W290 so much more than the W220 I told my wife I would sell it for a loss or I was going to give the W220 to a family member and buy another W290! She said she liked it so we keep both :-) I liked the W220 until I got the W290 with easier menu and more features such as underwater, (we hope to go back to the Philippines and "Swim with the Fishes") and other open shutter ability on a tripod to take low light photos similliar to SLR capabilities. The LCD is bigger but what is also handy is all the accessories work on both. However for the deep water case to work on various Cybershots different inserts have to be changed.
