I, like you, care about one thing when I buy a digital camera: photo quality. Quick shutter speed, features, LCD screens are nice and all, but when the pictures are horrible what does it matter.
Now when I buy a camera for $150 or so I am not expecting miracles. If I am really interested in getting perfect pictures I will purchase a $4000 camera, I understand that. However, I do expect a little more than I got from this Nikon Coolpix. What is the point of a camera if:
-Virtually every picture you take in low lighting looks blurry?
-The flash sometimes doesn't go off?
-Virtually every subject you take a picture of has red eye?
-Color balance differs so significantly from picture to picture? Some pictures the same person is really tan in some, others they are completely washed out, and this is in NORMAL lighting
-Pictures are grainy and fuzzy?
It's embarrassing when I bring a camera to an event where I am the sole person take pictures, and everyone has a great time and wants to remember the memory. And then maybe 1 out of every 3 pictures comes out.
I am really not exaggerating. This camera is horrible. I don't pretend to be an expert photographer, but it doesn't take one to see what a piece of junk this device is. I've had several people look at this camera, one who was an expert photographer, and all have commented on the poor picture quality.
I had an old Kodak easy share that was 4 MP that I got for christmas in 2004 that took infinitely better pictures than this. There have got to be better options than this.Get more detail about Nikon Coolpix S220 10MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and 2.5 inch LCD (Plum).
